“In everyday life, we are exposed to a variety of information that exceeds the processing capacity of the human brain. Therefore, we are forced to &ldquofish out” the information relevant to us from the flood of data. Not everything that is in our field of vision reaches our consciousness. The selection of information occurs through attentional processes that are closely linked to the movement of our eyes. The criteria by which these selection processes occur have been the subject of my research. Through numerous laboratory experiments and with the help of the eye-tracking technology, I have been able to characterize the mental processes of attention more precisely. My studies have resulted in a series of 10+ optical-visual parameters, which are all bundled in the attention simulation system - VISATT (visual attention). VISATT visualizes what reaches consciousness when observing an image or advertisement.”
